ACTIONS: Workplace kitchens and events

Many workplaces have kitchens, cafeterias, or break rooms, and companies often host events and other occasions with food.

  • Minimize food waste. Provide only what people will eat, and arrange for leftovers to be donated appropriately.
  • Provide recycling containers with clear instructions about what is recyclable. Provide compost receptacles.
  • Provide water coolers and washable glasses instead of plastic water bottles.
  • Prioritize vegetarian and vegan options; minimize meat and cheese in meals and appetizers.
